Speed Reader:
Molly Bloom’s monologue from Ulysses

A speed reader web application I designed and helped code, for an ISTD student brief. The brief was to explore Molly Bloom’s monologue at the end of Ulysses by James Joyce and how to make it more legible. The monologue is a stream of consciousness and has no punctuation therefore I thought a speed reader would not only cut reading time in half, but also keep the reader engaged. I used the
ORP (optimal recognition point) of a word and the colour orange, a colour proven to increase focus, to make sure the reader stays engaged.
