Mother Louse Co.

Mother Louse Co. is a brewery, networking opportunity and social event space that I branded and curated to celebrate women in the beer industry. The name Mother Louse comes from a notorious alewife in 14th century Oxford and the project started at my 3rd year of university project exploring the lack of female representation within beer. I ending up making Mother Louse Co. an educational and participatory platform for men and women in beer to engage with, while shining a spotlight on the women.

I want Mother Louse to be a place where women interested in beer can learn more about the industry and the people involved, using it as a place to network. Ultimately I want Mother Louse to encourage more women to drink, brew or work in beer.

I made a film of the Mother Louse collaboration beer being brewed with home brewer Katrinna Sewell. I launched the beer at my degree show in london where I designed and curated a social space for people to sit and try it. I printed out copies of all of my interviews so people could enjoy the beer whilst learning about some of the fantastic women in the industry.
